These Terms of Service govern your use of CREDA, a cooperative financial management platform operated by CREDA Limited, a subsidiary of Sidnet Limited, registered in Kenya. By using CREDA, you agree to these terms.
1. About CREDA
CREDA is a digital platform that enables chamas, SACCOs, community development associations, and other informal savings groups to manage contributions, loans, meetings, and investments. CREDA is operated by CREDA Limited (a subsidiary of Sidnet Limited), incorporated in Kenya. CREDA is a technology platform. We are not a bank, microfinance institution, or licensed deposit-taking institution. We facilitate financial record-keeping and group governance — we do not hold member funds.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use CREDA. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to represent any group you register on the platform.
3. Account Registration
CREDA uses phone number verification via SMS OTP. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your OTP or PIN with anyone. CREDA staff will never ask for your OTP. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at hello@creda.africa.
4. Group Contributions and Loans
CREDA records group financial transactions but does not hold, transfer, or guarantee member funds. All M-Pesa transactions occur between members and their group's registered M-Pesa paybill or till number. CREDA is not responsible for failed M-Pesa transactions, disputes between group members, or losses arising from group financial decisions. Loan approvals are made by group members according to their group's governance rules. CREDA provides the platform — lending decisions rest with the group.
5. CREDA Score
The CREDA Score (0–1000) is a proprietary creditworthiness indicator calculated from your activity within CREDA groups. It is based on contribution consistency, loan repayment history, tenure, and group standing. The CREDA Score is for informational purposes. CREDA makes no guarantee that the score will be accepted by any lender, landlord, or third party.
6. CREDA Lipa (BNPL)
CREDA Lipa allows group members to purchase from approved merchants using credit funded by their group's savings pool. By using CREDA Lipa, you agree to repay the amount to your group within the period set by your group's policy. Failure to repay affects your CREDA Score and your standing within the group. CREDA facilitates the transaction and earns a platform fee from merchants. CREDA does not provide credit.
7. Marketplace
The CREDA Marketplace allows members to list and purchase goods and services. CREDA is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of listings. Disputes between buyers and sellers should first be resolved through the group's treasurer or chairperson. CREDA may be contacted for escalation at hello@creda.africa.
8. Green Finance and Carbon Credits
CREDA Green allows groups to log environmental activities and potentially earn carbon credits. Carbon credit verification is subject to third-party standards and timelines outside CREDA's control. CREDA does not guarantee that any activity will generate verified carbon credits or that credits will achieve any particular market value.
9. Fees and Billing
CREDA offers a Free plan and paid plans (Growth at KES 999/month, SACCO/MFI at KES 9,999/month, and Enterprise at custom pricing). Subscription fees are billed monthly. Referral credits may offset subscription costs. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Transaction fees apply to M-Pesa processing, loan origination, marketplace commissions, and BNPL facilitation as disclosed in your plan.
10. Data and Privacy
Your use of CREDA is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using CREDA, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in that policy. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Anonymized, aggregated data may be shared with development finance institutions (DFIs) for financial inclusion reporting, subject to your group's consent.
11. Intellectual Property
CREDA, the CREDA Score, CREDA Lipa, and all associated marks, designs, and technology are owned by CREDA Limited and Sidnet Limited. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Kenyan law, CREDA Limited and Sidnet Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to group financial losses, failed M-Pesa transactions, or data breaches caused by third parties.
